Xbox Live Outage
UPDATE, 7/2, 9:01 p.m. ET: Microsoft announced that the technical issues impacting Xbox Live have been resolved. “Users should no longer be encountering issues signing in to Xbox Live and services,” the Xbox Support team tweeted at 8:49 p.m. ET. “Thank you for your patience, game on!”

On Tuesday, Xbox Live experienced a significant outage, leaving thousands of gamers unable to access the service. The Xbox Live Outage began around 2:15 p.m. ET, as reported by Downdetector, with user complaints quickly rising to over 23,000 by 2:25 p.m. ET. Most users reported issues with logging in, with some encountering messages indicating that the service was undergoing “scheduled maintenance.”
The Xbox Live Outage also affected other Microsoft services like Minecraft and the Microsoft Store, which saw a spike in error reports.
At 2:55 p.m. ET, the official Xbox Support account acknowledged the problem on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We are aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live. We’re investigating!” The Xbox status page was updated to reflect a major outage of the “Account & profile” service at 2:07 p.m. ET, indicating that users might be unable to sign in, stay connected, or access features requiring a login.
Xbox Live is essential for online gameplay and accessing various features on Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and Xbox mobile apps, making such outages particularly disruptive.
