The UX now uses shift-by-wire, which means it shifts quicker and smoother without mechanical linkages. Lexus claims that the zero-to-60-mph time is now 7.9 seconds for all-wheel-drive models and 8.0 seconds for front-wheel-drive versions, which is faster than before.

The buttons on the door panels have been rearranged slightly, and the metal trim on the F Sport Handling models has a new look. Premium and F Sport models now come with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster as standard, while the base trim still has a 7.0-inch display. The center touchscreen is 8.0 inches for the base, Premium, and F Sport Design models, while the F Sport Handling model gets a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. Additionally, the F Sport Handling model now comes with a power rear door that can be opened with a kick sensor.
In terms of safety features, Lexus’s Safety System+ 3.0 is now standard for 2025. This includes features like pedestrian detection and emergency braking, detection and braking for oncoming vehicles during left turns, adaptive cruise control that can adjust speed in curves, lane keep assist and lane departure warnings, and the ability for the car to read road signs and show the appropriate icon on the dashboard.
