Chandramukhi 2’s Tamil magic was evident with a robust 51.90% occupancy on Thursday, while Telugu and Hindi showings achieved respectable 42.65% and 12.77% occupancies, respectively. This Tamil film made its debut alongside two Hindi contenders, “The Vaccine War” and “Fukrey 3,” coinciding with the festive holiday of Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi and Ganpati Visarjan celebrated in various parts of India.

Chandramukhi 2, the sequel to the Tamil blockbuster horror-comedy starring Rajinikanth and Jyothika, carries the legacy forward with a touch of reverence. Ahead of its release, Raghava Lawrence sought Rajinikanth’s blessings, expressing his admiration for the senior actor’s success in ‘Jailer.’

The film’s intriguing trailer unfolds as a family moves into a mysterious mansion, cautioned to avoid the enigmatic south block, known as Chandramukhi’s domain. Kangana Ranaut shines as a dancer in the king’s court, renowned for her beauty and dance prowess, while Raghava Lawrence transforms into King Vettaiyan Raja, immersing the audience in another realm intertwined with the mansion’s mystique.

Originally slated for a September 15 release, the film’s debut was pushed to September 28 due to technical reasons. With music by M. M. Keeravani, Chandramukhi 2 features captivating songs like ‘Thori Bori’ that encapsulate the family’s journey in the mansion, Kangana’s mesmerizing dance number ‘Swagathaanjali,’ and Raghava Lawrence’s captivating ‘Moruniye,’ all beautifully composed by Keeravani.
