Lexus UX300h 2025 SUV Review

Lexus UX300h

The 2025 Lexus UX300h marks a significant addition to Lexus’s lineup, embodying the  brand’s commitment to luxury, innovation, and environmental  consciousness. As a compact luxury SUV, the UX300h is designed to cater  to urban dwellers and young professionals who seek a blend of  sophistication, efficiency, and advanced technology. Positioned as an  entry-level SUV, it provides an accessible yet premium option within the  Lexus family, appealing to those who desire the prestige of the Lexus  name without compromising on modern conveniences or budget

Lexus UX300h

One of the most compelling aspects of the 2025 Lexus UX300h is its  hybrid powertrain. In an era where environmental concerns and fuel  efficiency are paramount, the Lexus UX300h stands out with its  commitment to reducing emissions and offering a more sustainable driving  experience. The hybrid system combines a fuel-efficient gasoline engine  with electric motors, delivering a seamless and responsive performance  that aligns with the demands of today’s eco-conscious consumers.

Hybrid Performance and Efficiency

The Lexus UX300h comes in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.  They both use a 150-hp 2.0-liter inline-four engine along with an  electric motor and a continuously variable transmission. The  all-wheel-drive models have an additional motor on the rear axle. The  combined power output is 196 hp.

Hybrid Performance and Efficiency

Lexus says the higher power is due to the new hybrid system and a  lighter lithium-ion battery replacing the old nickel-metal hydride one.  This new battery is placed under the rear seat, so it doesn’t take up  cargo space. Lexus estimates that the front-wheel-drive models will get  around 43 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive models will get around  41 mpg combined. This is slightly better than the 2024 UX250h.

Hybrid Performance and Efficiency

The UX now uses shift-by-wire, which means it shifts quicker and  smoother without mechanical linkages. Lexus claims that the  zero-to-60-mph time is now 7.9 seconds for all-wheel-drive models and  8.0 seconds for front-wheel-drive versions, which is faster than before.

Design and Comfort

For 2025, there are a few small upgrades. One is a new color called  Copper Crest. The buttons on the door panels have been rearranged  slightly, and the metal trim on the F Sport Handling models has a new  look. Premium and F Sport models now come with a 12.3-inch digital gauge  cluster as standard, while the base trim still has a 7.0-inch display.  The center touchscreen is 8.0 inches for the base, Premium, and F Sport  Design models, while the F Sport Handling model gets a larger 12.3-inch  touchscreen. Additionally, the F Sport Handling model now comes with a  power rear door that can be opened with a kick sensor.

Design and Comfort

In terms of safety features, Lexus’s Safety System+ 3.0 is now standard  for 2025. This includes features like pedestrian detection and emergency  braking, detection and braking for oncoming vehicles during left turns,  adaptive cruise control that can adjust speed in curves, lane keep  assist and lane departure warnings, and the ability for the car to read  road signs and show the appropriate icon on the dashboard.

Safety and Technology

The 2025 Lexus UX300h sets a new standard in safety and technology,  integrating a comprehensive suite of features designed to protect  occupants and enhance the driving experience. Standard safety equipment  includes a full array of airbags strategically placed to ensure maximum  protection in the event of a collision. Advanced collision avoidance  systems, such as automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection,  are also standard, providing an added layer of security for both the  driver and pedestrians

Safety and Technology

One of the standout features is the lane-keeping assist, which actively  helps the driver stay within their lane, reducing the likelihood of  accidental lane departures. The adaptive cruise control system is  equally impressive, maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead  and adjusting speed as necessary. For those looking for additional peace  of mind, optional safety features include a 360-degree camera system  and blind-spot monitoring, which offer a broader view of the  surroundings and alert the driver to potential hazards.

Safety and Technology

In terms of in-car technology, the 2025 Lexus UX300h does not  disappoint. The vehicle is equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment  system that includes a large touchscreen display, intuitive navigation,  and a host of connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto,  and Bluetooth. The user interface has been significantly improved,  offering a more seamless and responsive experience. Voice command  functionality allows the driver to control various features hands-free,  enhancing both convenience and safety.
